This shade was a great replacement for the old, yellow one that broke. It features a soft, bright matte white finish. Although it comes with a cap equipped with two holes for pull chains, only the center chain is functional because the opening is too narrow to use the fan chain—at least for my model of fan. So I really like this lamp first of all. It is the perfect height for my son. Its gold finish gives it a nice classic look to it. I loved that it has a step on and off peddle no need to reach to turn it on. I was trying to make my son a small little readingdrawing nook area to do what he enjoys the most. I was just not expecting that the top was glass and I accidentally broke one of the pieces so instead of 3 glass rings it has 2 in the picture.
