This pergola is much more solid and sturdy than most you’ll see at the big box stores. Instructions are straightforward and everything is labeled. I’m happy with it overall. Not to say there aren’t issues. Some of the welds are poor quality. I also had to deal with a couple of dents that made it hard to join pieces. All the bolts are 10mm, even for the base, which seems to be undersized. The shipping box looked like it was dropped from a moving vehicle…it was really bashed up but fortunately everything was in pretty good shape. Nice pergola. Put it together by myself (with the help of a few ladders for temporary bracing. A few things…. There were many dents on several pieces but with overseas shipping I’m surprised there were not even more. It was also missing pieces that I will have to try to add later when hopefully the company will send me the parts. It does let rain through but not in large amounts. It looks very nice with the wood grain post next to the dark gray aluminum frame. The shade glides smoothly on the rails. It was unraveling with hole in it but company hopefully will replace it.. This pergola does a good job of protecting from the sun and cooling down the atmosphere.it also helps to keep pesky bugs away! It took about 3 hours to assemble with only one person. Although the instructions could have been more clearer, it wasn’t too difficult to assemble. It looks pretty and exactly as it was advertised online. However, I did order the larger twelve by ten feet pergola but it was not the size I received. I had my concrete slab measured and then installed a concrete pad according to the measurements provided online. This is because my patio’s concrete slab was too small for it and the pergola must be installed onto a leveled foundation. However, while installing the pergola, we noticed it was too short about two feet. It measured ten by ten feet. Since it isn’t a very large and heavy pergola, we were able to just purchase a concrete pad to install it onto. It seems pretty sturdy and holds up well. Overall, I do recommend this pergola for anyone looking to add a stylish addition to their backyard. It is low maintenance and a quick one day project. It provides good protection from the sun while keeping bugs away. Although I received the smaller size, it is still large enough to accommodate a dining table with seating for six people. Appearance wise, it looks very pretty, exactly as advertised online. It is a modern look with the matte black and beige shade. It is neutral to most decor and easy to blend with patio furniture.. I have a very small patio and it gets so much sun I rarely use it. This was a good solution. I did add curtains (with velcro tabs) and some lights. Theres ONE tricky part when assembling, the part where the legs go into the frame have a slight slant, if theyre not in the correct corners, the legs go every which way! Solid construction. Not quite like the picture. Screws are black, not gold, roof panel does not look exactly like picture either. Put together by myself in about 13 hours, from unboxing to last screw, not extremely handy but a decent DIY'er. I did needed about 10 minutes of help from my wife to align the brace supports from the posts to the frame. The most annoying part was taking all the plastic off the metal roof panels (Tip: Don't try to do this if the panels are too cold or too hot, you will be tearing off small pieces). Out of all the material I would say the roofing panels look good but are very thin, the framing structure is quite sturdy to brace the panels but wouldn't want much snow to build up on it, as I can see the panels sagging under the weight..
