This is your typical, "you assemble" furniture. The construction is pressed board with a veneer overlay. The assembly was pretty easy and took me an hour and a half. The most difficult part of the assembly was screwing the back panels in place. I struggled a little bit getting them to fit perfect. We love this buffet. We had bought a black one and a white one. The directions are 95 excellent, there were a few challenges, but overall, it wasn’t difficult to put together. The 5 that we caution people on is step 16 and 17 regarding the second phase of putting the drawer slides in. These steps were difficult to understand. You have to bring the pieces to the work area to figure it out. We both were working on a piece at the same time and came across the exact same issue. Very nice piece once put together, however, we had to go out and purchase new drawer guides for all three drawers because we had 5 right side tracks and one left side track.
