It is made of high quality MDF and plywood and is strong and durable. Large space under bed for easy cleaning. Only 4 stars because it was a great value, otherwise it’d be 3. I am a fairly talented handyman and it took me 12 hours to assemble which I knew it would be long but not quite that much. The panels that make the front are ok but not great; definitely not a fine piece of furniture but decent for the price. This unit perfectly utilized a tiny 8x10 “bedroom” in my 126-year-old house. I use it as a multi-purpose guest room (for one) and craftoffice area. It’s super resourceful and space-saving which I love and wouldn’t have otherwise conceived would be possible given how tiny the room is. That being said It’s a great deal for what you get, but what you get is a fully occupied weekend for AT LEAST two people, and that’s if you’re familiar with assembling furniture, which I am. This was hands-down the most tedious and time-consuming piece I’ve ever assembled—however, I expected that to be the case and prepared myself for it. I would advise separating all the parts by step (hardware especially) beforehand to prevent stupid mistakes like using screws on step 37 that were meant to be used on step 13. Every detail matters. I am single but I can see how this project could potentially end in divorce. All in all, it’s a great piece for the money—just prepare yourself for not just hours, but DAYS of labor. Highly recommend for the patient DIY folks. The instructions aren’t great but they rarely are. Fortunately there are QR codes on each step which link to videos showing the guys in the factory assembling it. The bed folds up and down smoothly within seconds thanks to the dual piston system. The wall bed accommodates most standard Full mattresses (8-10 inches thick, 60-90 lb, 54 x 75 inches) and supports up to 1000 lb (including mattress). The open bed extends 84.9 inches from the wall. The cabinet must be anchored to a wall with a minimum ceiling height of 86.4 inches. Allow a clearance of 30-36 inches around the open bed. The complementary shelving unit comes with 2 fixed and 3 adjustable shelves to hold your belongings. The dual-mount wall bed mechanism attaches to the floor and wall for maximum stability and durability. To avoid risk of injury, the bed must be installed to wall and floor structure by a professional or qualified person. Two people are required for assembly. Installation requires attachment to wood studs or masonry, removal of the baseboard, and drilling into the floor (if disassembly is required, holes may be covered with baseboards 0.5 inches or thicker).
