Your average cheap mattress, definitely much less supportive and not as firm as your typical firm mattress, but as to be expected for the price. Doesn’t fluff up evenly or as nicely as you’d think if you’ve ever bought a quality bagged mattress you know what I mean. Fabric is super loose and not fitted to the mattress and the mattress does get that dipping effect when two people lay on it at the same time. Not the best, but not the worst either. This is a really nice bed! Beautiful design, excellent engineering, very good wood species, and near perfect manufacturing tolerances with everything fitting exactly as it should. This bed is very solid when assembled; no squeaks or wobbles. I took my time with the bed assembly, double-checked carefully with the provided step-by-step pictures, and had a helper to assist with the larger pieces. Assembly took approximately 90 minutes. You want to pay particular attention to the "this side up" arrows on some of the bed pieces to avoid problems. This bed is a very good value, in my opinion, and one that you won't be disappointed purchasing. Delivery to our location was in less than 2 days and arrived in perfect condition. This is the best idea ever, I love it! I was not thrilled about a dark color so I took fabric and glue gunned it all around the wood pieces after I assembled most of it, their was enough room to do this and it worked great. I used a soft upholstry fabric and also laid batting on the broad surfaces. The mechanism works great and does not shut unless you pull it down.
