It’s definitely heavy and warm, even with the air conditioning blasting. The only thing I’m a little disappointed in is the color. I don’t now if my pictures fully show, but it almost shows a bit on the blue side. Especially in the lighter gray spots. The opposite side is a solid velvet-y material in a slightly warmer gray that slightly contrasts the slightly blue-ish black on the fur side. Holy smokes Batman, I love this new blanket. Its super soft and big enough to curl up on the couch with. It's a bit pricey and I had to think twice about the purchase but it's worth every penny. Since it's natural fibers of wool and cotton it breathes and you don't get clamy like you do from microfiber.
