This shade was a great replacement for the old, yellow one that broke. It features a soft, bright matte white finish. Although it comes with a cap equipped with two holes for pull chains, only the center chain is functional because the opening is too narrow to use the fan chain—at least for my model of fan. The manufacturer of the ceiling fan in my front bedroom discontinued. my model . A "friend" broke the shade for the attached light. Manufacture's "suggestions" all fell flat. The product is still being sold as new merchandise by at least 7 vendors on line. The shade has dimensions not typical of replacement shades. 2 of the measurements the height and the center hole were the proper fit, but the width was 2.2 inches wider than the original shade. Called manufacturer to see if the 2 extra inches in width would work ok. Was told they cannot endorse product from other sources. Yet they did not have the shade and the fan plus all parts are now discontinued. Was told I most likely will have to buy a new fan/light combo Got very frustrating trying to find out if this shade ( second one I ordered for this fixture) would work. Wayfair customer service put me in touch with a staff member who got the answer that shade would fit. I ordered it arrived today. Perfect.
