The directions were difficult to follow. Yes you can look at the pictures and figure it out, and I did. They enclosed gloves, which was a ice touch, because they must have known the difficulty in getting the wood spindles in the holes. I had to hit them with a hammer to get them in and then screw in with Allen wrench. However, once assembles, the product is study, pillows are soft and Velcro is there to keep them in place. The bottom metal piece is extremely heavy and it is so difficult to screw in the 3 metal bars from the bottom. The screws took forever to get going and were very difficult to screw in. When we used a drill, it snapped the screw in half. There’s no soft surface for the cats either, you have to put something separate on top. Very stylish and pretty for a cat tee. Also quite heavy and feels very sturdy, much better than some other models that feel like they will topple over. I don’t see this one falling down. I am a little bummed that due to the size/shape and placement of the branch/basket it doesn’t fit where I had intended to put it near a window in my upstairs foyer.
