This clever bench features bobbin turnings on the arms, legs, and stretchers, and a sweetly scalloped apron. The seat is hand-tied rush and the seat divider makes this the perfect "time out" bench when there are cries from the children. This bench was a very pleasant surprise. I wanted the William Yeoward, Jonathan Charles bench but at $1,900 I decided I would 'settle' for the Emmalee bench instead. I was SHOCKED to see its gorgeous quality and that it is identical to the more expensive one. The color I got says "natural" but as you can see in my photos it is not that; instead it is a beautiful brownish gray, much dressier than a natural finish. The size is identical to the more expensive one, and the construction is substantial, sturdy and very high quality. The cane seating is thick and sturdy. My husband is a perfectionist and not happy with the color of the wood so he sanded it down and found that the same wood was not used throughout the loveseat. He also changed the height to suit us seniors who have trouble getting up from low places. The cushions are also very hard. There is no way of knowing that from the picture.
