It was finally time to switch out my heavy quilt for my new lighter bedspread. I searched high and low for a split corner bedspread with longer sides and came across this one. It needed to be open to allow for the posters and legs an I wasn’t certain if the corners unbuttoned but, fortunately, they did. It’s perfect and a nice weight with a matching pillow and shams with buttons. I bought two cream throw pillows on this site and matching buttoned linen euro shams elsewhere and I think it looks great. I did wash everything before using and it all washed up great. WOW. WOW. WOW. This is even more beautiful than I expected. It received so many positive reviews for a reason. It is absolutely gorgeous and looks way more expensive than what Wayfair charged. I rent a smallish room in a large home so I didn't want to take up too much space with a bigger bed. Making my twin mattress into a couch / sofa was the right way to go. Besides the reasonable price, the quality of the product is off the charts. They generously give you three (3) shams instead of two (2) AND a really pretty throw pillow with goldish / light brownish embroidery on it (that includes the pillow). I can't recommend this set enough. (Note: I didn't include the enclosed bed skirt because again, I didn't want it to look like a bed but rather a couch. I highly recommend this purchase. Go for it!. The color on this is a nice dark red, but for some reason I cannot get a super accurate color shot, although these are fairly close. The first picture was taken 'outside' on a sunny but cloudy day, and the second picture was indoors. The reason for the lower score is that this "quilt" cosists of two layers of the red fabric and a very thin layer of some type of iron on pelon. There is no actual quilting stitches on this. You get the appearance of a quilt based on the small holes stamping the three layers togther. Unfortunatly, you can see the white color pelon through the holes which kind of ruins the look for me. (See photos) It is pretty lightweight, and I was hoping for slightly heavier, but it's for summer which gets in the triple digits areound here, so it might be fine at this weight. When I first opened this package there was a slight chemical odor, and the fabric was very stiff. I took a chance and ran it through the washer & dryer, which elimiated all odor and softened the fabric considerably. Based on reviews for multiple quit covers, I purchaed a king size to fit a queen bed. I prefer some draping around the sides of the bed, and enough to pull over all the pillows we have, so I order larger sizes often. Only bad thing about this, is two of the shams is for a king sized pillow which I do not have. I think I can take them in later though. I thought this 'pretend' quilt was a little overpriced, but if it hold up well through multiple washings, and the pelon does not seperate from the fabric, since it is not stiched together, it will be worth it..
