I hope they hold up, they seem thinner gauge than my previous quad wash. Dishes and glasses come out shiny and dry. Crazy how much cleaner, steam for the win. As for noise, the only time you hear it, is when it's filling up, otherwise it's quiet. It has a light. Yes, a light! I love the light! Really nice feature none of us ever knew we needed. The light is inside the tub, and there is soft white light that shines on the floor to let you know it's running and when it's completed its cycle. I purchased the LG LDTS5552S dishwasher and have experienced a persistent chemical odor since the beginning of ownership. The smell is difficult to describe precisely, but it resembles heated rubber, vinyl, petroleum products, or synthetic plastic. The odor becomes stronger as the dishwasher heats up and appears to be emitted from the lower vent area. The problem occurs even during normal operation without using the High Temp or Extra Dry settings. Over the past year I have tried numerous troubleshooting steps, including cleaning the filters repeatedly, running cycles without detergent, using dishwasher cleaning cycles, and removing additional plastic accessories from inside the machine. None of these actions resolved the issue. The dishes themselves do not retain the odor, but the heated air emitted by the dishwasher does. The smell is strong enough to travel beyond the kitchen and can sometimes be noticed on the second floor of the house. After more than a year of trying to live with this issue, I have stopped using the dishwasher altogether and returned to washing dishes by hand because I am not comfortable having my family continuously exposed to the odor. What concerns me most is that this odor appears whenever the appliance is heated, suggesting that materials inside the unit may be releasing volatile compounds into the air. I do not know whether LG has evaluated the long-term impact of breathing these emissions during routine daily use, but I believe this is a legitimate concern that deserves attention. I am disappointed because otherwise the dishwasher performs well. If LG is aware of this issue or has a solution, I would genuinely appreciate a response. Originally, I was enticed by a special offer on a model similar with stainless steel interior, which is what I wanted. Then GE took that price away after I slept on it. Then I ordered this one not realizing it was plastic inside. Be careful when ordering appliances and if you see a price you like, grab it! Do not sleep on it or you may lose out. For that, I am angry. .Then came the delivery kerfuffle. I was not communicated with a proper delivery date and was surprised by a call stating they'd be here in 15 minutes! When I did get the dishwasher, the instructions were only fair. The toughest part of installing myself was getting it into position properly. I didn't get very good assistance from the GE delivery company and was not impressed with Wayfair's help when I first realized I could not get the one I wanted. All in all, however, this dishwasher performs very well and has the safety auto-shutoff I was looking for since I've had bad luck with prior dishwashers, especially Bosch!. Ron. Toms River, NJ.
