Measuring 27.6"L x 20"W x 55.2"H, the critter nation cage is constructed from solid fir wood and heavy-duty galvanized wire mesh. The five-level design offers ample space for exploration and climbing, and includes a small resting house. It is equipped with a deeper, leak-proof plastic tray that can be pulled out from the front and back and features a lock to prevent escapes. The metal wire mesh top and a visible front door provide good ventilation, allow for easy observation, and facilitate catching pets. This cage is suitable for a variety of small animals including ferrets, chinchillas, rats, squirrels, and sugar gliders, and can be used both indoors and outdoors.

It's a decent cage but came with some screws that were not really ideal for putting it together. Also instructions were a little vague but not too hard to figure out and takes longer than 45 minutes to put together even with 2 people even using a power drill. Also power drill is a must since they only made holes on one side of it to put together. Also, there could of been better attachment pieces for the top and bottom without having to add locks on it. We have 4 kids (all 11 and under) and 5 prey driven dogs. I needed a super safe place to keep our guinea pigs and this critter cabinet is absolutely perfect for that! We can easily see them doing all their guinea pig stuff. Assembly took me about 3 hours by myself. Directions were easy to follow and I didn’t end up missing anything so the frustration level was nice and low. The lights are our favorite touch. We can see them any time we want but they have a nice dark hideout just in case they need it. I don’t think the access to the hideout is a big deal. If you absolutely need to grab one you can pull out the tray some. Our piggies loved their new home and I also love the peace of mind it gives me knowing they aren’t in a wire cage anymore where my dogs could accidentally get too rough and break them out lol I definitely would recommend this cage. This small animal home was far better than expected. It is gorgeous and very functional by allowing ample storage under. The tray comes up to keep moisture from going over the sides, although small animals could kick paper bedding over the side. It is a really easy to clean dwelling. We have tried lots of different systems for guinea pigs in the past, this has been by far the best. We have two guinea pigs (they are on the smaller side) in this home, and they love it. Great idea but to use it as animal tank, it would need some modifications. This arrived in 2 separate boxes both within a week of ordering but on separate days. It isn’t hard to put together, the directions are clear although some f the parts were missing their number sticker. The fire place looks niceand the drawer slides smoothly. However nice this idea is though, I do not think it is right for small pets. First off, there is no bottom pan, so all bedding would get pretty dirty and soak through the wooden bottom of the drawer. Hamsters will be able to escape through the open spaces on the sides of the drawer which has an open space below. Anything moist will soak into the wood and therefore I do not believe it is a great option for pets, unless you make modifications.
