I loved this table when we got it. There was a very large flaw about the size of a dollar bill that I decided to live with. Then the first time we used it my glass sweat on the surface and it left a mark. I thought it would dry, the mark remained. Every drip leaves a permanent mark. When I tried to wipe the whole area, I took the gray was off. That was unacceptable to me so I lightly sanded the surface, filled the hole, gray washeded the surface and then put a finish coat on the whole thing. The finish on the top is similar to the finish on a grand piano-- it is black, streaks easily, and you cannot see any wood grain. Still, when we polish it carefully, it has an elegant gleam. The top and both leaves sustained damage in shipping. Wayfair offered us a discount and suggested a product to disguise it. Since the table is distressed anyway, we agreed. Id recommend this table if you have a large enough area and like SpanishCaribbean Colonial style. Ive paired it with brown leather, Spanish Revival chairs and it looks spectacular.
