Rug is beautiful. Lays pretty flat right away with a felt rug pad underneath. It is on the thinner side so you definitely want a felt rug pad. It is actually pretty soft to the touch (way softer than a jute or sisal rug). It doesn’t smell at all and was packaged well with several moisture absorbing packets. I love this rug! And as you can tell from the photo, my dogs do too! It’s a jute blend so it’s not soft like some of my other rugs, but I plan on putting this in a three season room once I move. These woven rugs look great but depending on the one you receive they may require a bit of repair/maintenance as some of the seagrass fibers are not woven in well. I've been tucking them back into place and putting a dab of super clue on them to prevent them from popping back out. I have other seagrass rugs that I've had for years and have yet to have this happen, but these have been under repair since arriving.
