The only downside was that my package included an outdated set of instructions and incorrectmissing hardware, which made assembly frustrating and prevented me from installing the shelf. That said, customer service was excellent and very responsive in working to resolve the issue, which I really appreciated. Just put it together today (by myself, mind you!), so I can’t speak to the quality long term, but it’s perfect for what I need right now. Took me an about 2 hours to put together - lining up the heavy top was a little bit of a struggle, but i got it after a few adjustments. It’s heavier duty partial board, but the coating on it seems like it’ll hold up well. I loved the look of this cabinet/table when I saw it. It was just what I was looking for; a table that converts into a small cabinet when not needed as a table. There were no reviews which made me nervous initially to make the purchase but I took a chance and I'm glad I did. The table came in two boxes and was very well packaged. I was very impressed as I unboxed it and laid out the parts. Everything was well labeled and all pieces were present along with extras. It took my husband and I a little over 6 hours to assemble it. I would have easily given it 5 stars except for a few cons to this beautifully designed cabinet/table. Cons: It comes with lighting in the glassed storage shelving and electrical outlet on the side of the cabinet. These were not necessary. They ended up making the unit messy with cords and cables. I'm using it as a desk so you rarely see or need the cabinet lighting. The lighting is also powered by plugging it into the USB port on the desk. It's just not necessary. Secondly, the unit sits very flush to the floor. It was probably not intended to be on an area rug like I have it so I can't put it flush to the wall and the shelf drawer drags when I open it to access the inside. I purchased this solid wood kitchen island through Wayfair Products Verified, and honestly I thought it was going to be a nightmare to assemble because of all the rails, drawers, and amount of pieces included. Surprisingly, it was actually pretty easy to put together. The pre-made holes were perfectly aligned and all the instructions were very clear. I had seen some reviews saying the assembly process was terrible, but that wasn’t my experience at all. I think this has been the biggest furniture project I’ve done because of the number of pieces, but overall the process was smooth and easy to follow. I’m definitely not disappointed with this purchase. My only concern is the back panel of the island since it feels super thin compared to the rest of the structure. Although this cabinet is beautiful and provides good storage, its not that high. Im 56 and it doesnt even come to the tops of my hips like a normal kitchen cabinet would.
