Once you have everything set up and you have basic carpentry knowledge, this door is easy to install. It takes about 2-3 hours for the whole process including putting the hardware on the door and hanging it. All of the hardware that came with this door is great quality. There were detailed instructions with pictures and the notch for the lock was pre cut. This is a hollow door but it’s very sturdy and heavy. It doesn’t feel hollow. And the lock is actually a lock. I am using it as an exterior door from a breezeway into my garage. It is perfect to keep the door shut when I have the dog in there with me. It's only 1 3/8 thick and pine, so you are getting what you pay for. I took it to a door shop to have the holes drilled for the lock sets, and for the hinges.
