I just assembled this myself. Read the reviews because the instructions are a bit tricky. I’m a 53yr old woman with some fair DIY skills. I recommend a drill in place of the Allen wrench. We are pretty happy with the platform bed. Very protected in the box. The instructions were only pics, which was easy to understand. The bed is definitely all hard wood. It’s not the type of hardwood you could sand and refinish in the future. It also arrived without any broken pieces. It was a bit time consuming to make this bed, at some parts the instructions were a little unclear. Regardless we got it together (hardware set was missing 1 washer), and it fit our son's mattress well. I like the built in shelving and holes for charging. Unfortunately the led light strip provided didn't work, but its ok since our son didnt need it. I like putting his favorite books and toys on the shelves, and I can plug in one of his night lights into the port which makes up for the light bar not working.
