I purchased this Murphy bed because I have a small guestroom that is dual purposes as a sewing room when I don’t have overnight company. It took my husband and I three and half hours to assemble. This is made with manufactured wood so take your time during the assembly process and everything will come together nicely. Im so glad I purchased this bed! I wanted a bed with storage and this delivers! Ill try to be as detailed as possible so hopefully this helps someone. The frame arrived quickly in 3 separate heavy boxes. Assembly was an easy, but lengthy process. It took over 6 hours with one person, a power drill, and no rush. There are detailed instructions, clear labelings for each piece, and organized hardware. Just make sure you have plenty of room to lay out pieces during assembly. I love that the bed sits flush with the floor so I dont have to worry about toys or dust getting trapped under it. Ive been using this bed for over a week now and so far it seems very sturdy since it holds up to two toddlers jumping on it. To note the “white” IS a slightly off-white with distressed detailing. I love the two sizable drawers and deep cubbies on each side of the bed. The drawers slide well and can hold quite a bit. The drawers measure 21in W x 6in H x 11in D. The cubby measures 16in W x 9in H 12in D. (Rough estimates but I included pictures) The inside headboard storage is a bit over 5 inches deep, which isnt much but good enough for hiding chargers, tablets, a box of tissues, etc. My mattress is 12 inches tall so the tilt-out wont open fully, especially with pillows, but its still functional. The upper shelves are 5 12 inches deep with the headboard storage providing an edge. The plug-in is located in the middle of the bed on the bottom shelf and has two, 3-prong outlets, a USB port, and a C-charger port. There are several cord access holes (one behind each ‘section’ and on top of the connecting boards) throughout the headboard so you can charge from anywhere without having cables everywhere. The middle top shelf is easy to knock off so I recommend using the screws to secure it to the adjustable pegs. The lights in the top of the headboard are pretty, with several colors and functions (see picture of remote). You can adjust the brightness, but I wouldnt say its bright enough to use as a reading light or to replace a lamp. Great night light though. I had previously ordered the mattress and slept on it for years so went for it again. It is so comfortable especially for people like me that likes a little firm but after time it will soften a little. I cannot feel any movement when my partner moves or gets out of bed. I recently purchased the Ophelia Solid Wood Platform Bed in the Chalk finish (King size) and I couldn’t be happier. This bed is everything I wanted and more. The chalk color is beautiful — it has that perfect weathered, driftwood look with subtle white undertones that make the natural wood grain pop without looking too gray or too brown. First of all I want to say I generally have no ability to put things together whatsoever! However, I was able to assemble this in a total of 6 1/2 hours all by myself. All the pieces come well marked including the fasteners, and they even give you extra hardware. I stripped one bolt so I was happy to have some replacements! The instructions were simple although daunting at first as there were so pictures to follow. I was easily able to keep up once I got into the rhythm and everything was well marked as far as what to do next. The end result is very nice! My barn doors don't randomly slide as one other reviewer commented on; however these rattle at every movement on the mattress. I'm not sure how I'm going to like that tonight when I sleep, or how to stop it from happening. I might have to jam something in the track to keep them blocked shut but that defeats the purpose of the storage doors! This is one reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. The velcro slats are a great addition! I don't think there will be any movement and it feels very solid once put together. The box weighed 110 pounds, so I guess that tells you a little bit about how sturdy everything is. I purchased the khaki color which doesn't match my decor but works better than white would have. It is quite nice but I wish there were other colors (brown? black?) which is another reason for the 4 stars. Definitely happy to have purchased this and am looking forward to my first night on it although the barn door noise does make me a little nervous so if anyone has any solutions I'd love to hear them in your review! This bed is beautiful. It was actually very easy to put together also. We have a 13” mattress on ours, so it feels really tall. I love the color. It’s a beigegray. Just know that since it’s a sleigh bed, it will stick out away from the wall. It ended up about 3 inches longer than my panel bed before. The drawers are deep and open pretty easily.
