Wasn’t hard to build if you have any knowledge of cabinet construction. Generally looks nicer than comparable units because of the raised face door and drawers. This is eye catching. It is a nice edition to my bed room where I was able to find a matching nightstand, and the dog crate for the other side of the bed. It was easy to put together and there were extra parts in case one was lost or not functional. The cage itself is not made for a dog that does not want to be in it. There is no metal on the inside, It is easy to use and my dog (miniature pincher) has ample room to stretch out or lay on his side. I am pleased with the purchase. It arrived in a box that was dented and broken (not the senders fault most likely the delivery co) BUT because the sender packs it tightly with lots of Styrofoam there was NO damage to any of the parts. And because they are meticulous with packaging very well nothing was missing. They take very good care in packaging the item to keep it from any damage or loss. If there is bad reviews it’s most likely people that do not know how to put things together or are expecting a designer piece for the price of a discount store item. This thing is a monster to put together! I would definitely recommend sliding aside a decent amount of time and having a helper. Went together pretty easily, took awhile (few hours) but easy and directions were awesome. It’s incredibly sturdy, I’d even use it to stand on to change a light bulb or something lol. Comes with extra hardware. Quality is quite decent for the 165 I paid. It’s not a solid wood piece but still very sturdy. No chipped pieces and no damage on arrival with no missing pieces.. This large dog crate furniture piece is an attractive addition to our home and comfortable for our dogs. One is 55 lbs and the other (in the picture) is 40 lbs. We only put them in one at a time, but if you had 2 smaller dogs, it could fit them no problem. It was straightforward to put together, but it definitely needs two people to lift it and move it. We put the crate together in our living room then tried to move it to the office, but had to remove the door to fit it through....it's big! But our dumb mistake for not measuring the door frame first. My only gripe is that the lock pieces are a bit tiny, but they are solid. Both front doors can not be used. Only one front door slides on bar. The other side doors open but if you have them blocked by walls they are not accessible. I put it in a rv so both side doors are not accessible. I ended up just leaving front doors off and putting up a curtain.
