This desk is perfect for what we needed. My daughter wanted more space for dance and this has really opened up so much room. Because it is so long she hasn’t really lost any desk space either. Love this bed! The build took about four hours and the instructions were very easy to follow. If you have basic tools, I definitely recommend using them to make assembly smoother. It feels very sturdy and the wood quality is solid. It did surprise me how low it sits to the ground, but I actually like the sleek look now. It makes my room feel more open and modern. This unit perfectly utilized a tiny 8x10 “bedroom” in my 126-year-old house. I use it as a multi-purpose guest room (for one) and craftoffice area. It’s super resourceful and space-saving which I love and wouldn’t have otherwise conceived would be possible given how tiny the room is. That being said It’s a great deal for what you get, but what you get is a fully occupied weekend for AT LEAST two people, and that’s if you’re familiar with assembling furniture, which I am. This was hands-down the most tedious and time-consuming piece I’ve ever assembled—however, I expected that to be the case and prepared myself for it. I would advise separating all the parts by step (hardware especially) beforehand to prevent stupid mistakes like using screws on step 37 that were meant to be used on step 13. Every detail matters. I am single but I can see how this project could potentially end in divorce. All in all, it’s a great piece for the money—just prepare yourself for not just hours, but DAYS of labor. Highly recommend for the patient DIY folks. The instructions aren’t great but they rarely are. Fortunately there are QR codes on each step which link to videos showing the guys in the factory assembling it. Comes in 4 boxes, received 2 on one day the other 2 the next day. Really nice set, pretty happy with it. Couple of extras that we are doing to it, the brackets to hold the frame to the wall can be seen when bed is down just going to paint them white to make it less noticeable. The barrel of the hinge for the shelf can be seen when the bed is in the up postion. Definitely need to support the bed frame to the wall and into the studds a must. Daughter loves her bed! It seems pretty sturdy. The negatives for me are the side opposite of the desk is unfinished, it just has black backing on the side so it limits where the bed can be placed from an aesthetic perspective it basically has to be in a corner if you don’t want to see the black backing side. You definitely need two people to put this together as it is cumbersome and 1 person alone can’t hold pieces where they need to be wrenched into place as it is slightly elevated.. Ashley. I had to come back and edit my review because at first when opening the boxes I was pleasantly surprised to to see that it was actually painted solid wood and not veneer or wrapped MDF. As we started putting it together there was imperfections in the pant and the screws were to long and popped through the finished.
