This chair mat looks crisp, clean, and clear (like glass), which is why I selected this product. It is not heavy as a glass mat would be. However, the mat does not stay adhered to the carpeted floor, even with the sticky tape that came with the mat. The chair mat provides the protection I needed for my wood floor. It lays down flat to the floor as I hoped it would, it blends into the area around my desk and floor, the mat is just the right thickness to protect the floor, and thin enough that I am not be jarred the times I might roll off the mat.. I got size 0.25" H x 60" W x 48" D - the largest chair mat available. The hardwood floorboards under the desk in my husband's home office were beginning to look stressed, so I ordered this to protect the wood. It was a little pricey for us, but I wanted it to be large enough so he wouldn't feel constrained, and I wanted it to last forever. (I could actually have gotten it cheaper from two other vendors, but I didn't trust them as much as I trust Wayfair.) I also got the Three Year Protection Plan that was offered because, after reading many many reviews from ALL the top makers of tempered glass chair mats, I could see that VERY occasionally, for some unknown reason, a chair mat from might suddenly just shatter (usually within the first year or so), so I got the Protection Plan to calm my fears about that.
