I am very happy with this hood. The quality of build seems solid, installation instructions were very clear, and it I think it looks great. It takes some planning and work to get it installed. You have to make sure your ceiling joists and ductwork is going the right direction or be prepared to do some modifications. I have a soffit and had to take down a bunch of drywall to modify the framing, run the 14/3 romex for the light/fan and modify the ducting. Then I replaced the drywall, taped, texture, paint and installed the hood. Fortunately it all came together nicely. I was able to held the hood in place while my wife drive the screws into the framing. I think it will be worth it in the end because the hood won’t be blocking the view in front of our cooktop.. This vent cover looks really nice in my newly renovated bathroom. It is quite stylish and complements the other gold fixtures in the room. My reason for only rating it 4 stars is that it was missing the vent mounting clips and instructions when it arrived. While Wayfair sent the clips several days later, I feel it never should have been sent without them. The Ribbon grille is a resin (polyurethane) decorative vent cover that is light in weight yet sturdy and strong. Grilles are unfinished and ready for you to primer and paint to achieve the perfect color for your setting. Each grille is made using a casting process that allows for a three-dimensional look. Add a clean, decorative finish to your wall or ceiling supply vent with this unfinished wooden register made from a 1/4" thick birch wood panel. Each register is crafted to fit the selected duct opening size and includes 2 installation holes with 2 steel countersink screws. Decorative may be available as a selectable option. The natural unfinished wood surface can be painted or stained to match your room, trim, ceiling, or wall décor. White semigloss paint is available as a selectable option.  These registers are designed to screw into drywall. For the best fit, order by the actual duct opening size, not by the size of your existing cover. Remove the old register, measure the inside width and length of the duct opening, and select the matching size, with width listed first and length listed second. For example, a 6" x 10" duct opening will have an overall vent size of approximately 8" x 12", allowing a 1" border around the opening for installation. Please note that this decorative register cover does not include louvers or a damper box to redirect airflow. All our designs are airflow tested to guarantee maximum efficiency.

The box unit can also be stained at the same time as the floor to make it a seamless, Invisible look. The installation can be done while the floor is being installed, or you can router out your hardwood floors around the opening if they have already been installed. With the included wooden support box installed around the duct opening, the decorative magnetic metal vent 1/16” thickness will drop in place.
