We are so happy with this playhouse! Our daughter is 2 (almost 2.5) and has been absolutely obsessed with it since the day we set it up. We love this dog house. We have a 110 pound German shepherd who prefers being outside. I never grew up with an outdoor dog so I was extremely hesitant to move him full time to our backyard, but this dog house made it an easier choice. He’s super happy and so are we. One thing to note is the installation is very tricky. We thought we could do it ourselves but we ended up paying someone 700 to build it for us. Its very cute! It was fairly easy to assemble -- we didnt have problems with pieces missing or not fitting at all, and did it in about 6 hours all together. Some of the wood pieces are not in great condition, arriving already with splits in them or fraying (the wood is thin and splits easily), and inconsistent painting on some pieces. We paid 400 and I feel the quality is appropriate for that price, but if we had paid 700 I would be more upset about these flaws. Only other note is that I wish the door was taller--my daughter is 5 and we know she may only get a couple of years out of this at this point, but she is already inches above the door opening and has to duck to enter. The design could easily incorporate a taller door into the frame (we may end up hand-cutting a taller door) and this would increase the lifespan of the product in families.
