Made of wood, not flimsy particle board. Assembly is easy. but reading the directions is essential. This is not a piece you can just "wing", and assembly is best with two people. Note that only the top section lights. I'm not a fan of the yellow tone bulb and hope to be able to replace the bulb with one of more white light. The doors shut tight, and the unit sits level.
