This set is beautiful, a perfect size for my space. It is as pictured. The cherry finish is not overly “ red”. Matches my cabinetry very well. Solid feeling set, chain/ gears for the expansion leaf. There was a small nick in table edge, should cover easily. There was a scratch , maybe just in the varnish, of the pedestal base, won’t easily be seen. I am very happy with this set. It took an evening to put together (3 hrs) by myself. I am a 69 yr old lady. The only thing I couldn't do by myself was flip the table upright. This is a very heavy, solid wood set. The finish is darker than the picture, which I am glad. Much more dark cherry/ mahogany color than the orangey tone on the website. I thought the chair seats were black but the seat part is a very deep brown. Looks black from afar. The assembly was easy and the directions were clear. The Prestow uses a simple butterfly mechanism - gently pull on either end of the table to 'open' the sliding mechanism and reveal the extension piece concealed under the top. Available in either white and gray, cream and oak or oak. This product is real wood and so it will age, which can result in colour variations.

Assembly was a little tricky because the leaf did not align with the pre-drilled holes. Moving the hardware fixed this. Love my dining table it exceeded my expectations. Although the description indicates saddle brown, I ordered and received the black with natural top. Table and chairs are very sturdy. I opted for the white glove delivery and the guys were on time and careful. The set is small, so make sure to review the specs before buying. I needed a table that collapsed to 42x42 and opened to 60. This is the ticket. It is fabulous quality a piece of cake to put together. The butterfly leaf is already assembled and attached. The colors are perfect. I ordered the buttercup chair covers and they are not as light as in the photo but much better darker color. The black and cherry colors are perfect.
