Package was shipped well and arrived without damage. The product appears to be well-made feels well constructed, and appears to be solid wood. You can tell where certain sections are joined and there’s inconsistencies in the stain. I would’ve given this product five stars, however the top of the table is not flat where the leaf insert joins. It’s a small lip where one side of the leaf joins and the finishes additionally, worn and discolored some. The Bertie Mid-century Modern Dining table is a very beautiful table. It arrived in two boxes. Delivery was just a few days. Delivered by FedEx. The construction of the table was very simple, and easy. It only took thirty minutes to put together. I received the lighter color. The leave to extend the table, is perfect for extra company, or a larger family. I believe you could fit more than six people around it. There are two things I would like to mention, the top of the table is not a smooth service, and the bottom supports (legs) could have been about three or four inches toward the center. Firstly- Wayfair customer service is actually great. They sent me a whole new table after parts went missing in shipment, and even picked up the old incomplete table. Secondly- this review needs a video. It's shocking how easy it is to expand this table- and it looks so continuous- it doesnt suddenly have a completely different grain in the middle. I love that the leaf stays in place and protected- and that i dont have to get everyone's help to extend my table. The table itself is stunning and so easy to assemble. The wood grain is just the most divine color. It looks luxurious and Im in love. One downside to this table that I didnt think about- the legs are not actually getting 19" further apart. The top is expanding- which makes it super easy to expand, but a bit more of a challenge to fit chairs across, as the legs arent getting further apart. So you kind of do need to use small, maybe some elegant folding chairs, when you extend, as a full additional dining chair probably wont fit on each side Lastly- the packaging of the leaflet isn't great. Both tables, the leaflet was bent and partially damaged. We were able to use a rubber mallet to hammer back in place. We were lucky the new table had damage only on the hidden side of the leaflet , but our first table was badly damaged on both sides. oh, and, after Christmas, we had a small hole on the table- not sure what, but kind of seemed like a burn mark. it seems like the top layer of the wood might be fragile and prone to heat damage- I'll just have to wait and see about longevity. For the packaging, legs, and potential fragility of the top surface, im giving 4 stars to an almost perfect table. After all, the legs issue is probably a problem with all built in leaflet tables, but just one i never thought about before, and one that really hinders seating of large parties.
