This cabinet bed really surprised me—in a good way. The overall build quality is excellent. It feels sturdy, well-balanced, and far from flimsy, which is exactly what you want for something that’s both furniture and a functional bed. The finish has a nice, clean look with subtle texture that gives it a more premium feel than I expected from something ordered online. When closed, it looks like a stylish cabinet and blends in nicely with the room. Once opened, it’s just as impressive. The frame is solid and supportive, and the mechanism operates smoothly. It doesn’t feel like a “temporary” sleeping solution at all—more like a legitimate bed that just happens to fold away. The added lighting detail is a nice touch and gives it a modern, upgraded feel. That said, be prepared assembly is no joke. This is definitely a multi-hour project and not something I’d recommend tackling solo unless you’re very experienced. The instructions are manageable, but there are a lot of steps and parts, and it takes patience to get everything aligned properly. Having a second set of hands makes a huge difference. The wood pattern was just as shown. Received four damaged pieces, (we had to build the bed with the damaged pieces due to company coming) and then take apart to replace damaged pieces. Customer service was efficient. After filling out the damaged item request, replacements arrived quickly with out hassle. The back panels vibrated when moving around on the bed. Assembly took ~6 person hours with a couple of mistakes that required taking some pieces apart and reassembling. Multiple pieces were not labeled with numbers and the instructions were somewhat difficult to follow. This piece is very sturdy but note that it weighs ~240 lbs in total. Converting it from a cabinet to a bed is definitely a 2 person operation as the top is quite heavy. A 6" trifold mattress just barely fits - it makes it hard to use the latch and puts pressure on the front panel such that it slightly bends outwards. This murphy bed desk works well for what I need. The desk is a little bit shallow, but fine for a laptop. It wouldn't be ideal if its your primary desk. The bed is pretty comfortable for only 6" and works great as a guest bed. It is easy to convert between the desk and the bed and was way easier to assemble/install than a traditional murphy bed and much less expensive. Amazing value! We looked all around for one of these beds to fit into an extra office/guest room. This was about half the price of other furniture stores and it is a perfect addition to the room. We added a thick mattress cover to make it more plush and some small reading lights in the top underneath so guests will have easy access to a light at night. The bed is beautiful. It folds up really nicely and does not look like a Murphy bed at all. Much better than the pics! However, the instructions say it takes two hours to build. It took me about ten hours, so she has to be prepared. Also, there is a strong smell (paint etc), so you'll need to air it out for several days before use.. Sahil. Fri May 01 2026
