This is an elegant, firm sofa that was easy to assemble solo, and this is not something I usually do. I did have a friend help me flip it up onto its legs after assembly. The box arrived really beat up, and I had misgivings as I was unwrapping, but the contents were protected. I have now had this sofa for over a year; I slept on it for three months while fostered cats and kittens took over my bedroom. It would work to use it as a daily bed, but it is VERY firm. The blue velvet fabric has held up nicely despite 2 cats (who fortunately, do not scratch it). I have received many compliments on it; it is the focal point of the sitting area. There is an obvious top and bottom so its easy to get into position before opening it. It inflated very quickly and does have that smell, which will probably take a week to fully dissipate. There is a anti slip texture on the bottom which means it very stable on the wood floor. The dogs already love it. I got the curry velvet color. It looks quite different than the color in the picture but I was expecting that from other photos. More deep orangey red brown than tan. But I actually think it's so beautiful! Took me and my boyfriend about 45 minutes to set it up, it was fairly easy. The bottom cushion is firm and the back cushions are nice and soft. I got it for my therapist office and I think that is a perfect combination for clients sitting on it regularly. Upon getting the couch it came in 3 boxes, the packaging was really nice and everything was packaged well. The directions for putting it together however were very blunt and not detailed what so ever. Their also were holes in the bottom where screws were meant to go, that were not holes all the way through so I had to puncture through fabric, not sure if that is meant to be done or not. Upon finishing the couch, I realized I was missing the side arm cushions. I will be reaching out to see if they will be getting mailed.
