This mattress has truly been a great lifesaver for our back pain. My husband has a herniated disc and requires a very firm mattress. This did take a full 48 hours to completely get to its firmness, so don’t be discouraged after it compresses on the first day. He reports that his back pain has improved greatly, and I would strongly suggest this bed for those experiencing spinal issues. I am also sleeping with my baby and follow the safe seven sleep method which requires a very firm mattress. This mattress falls into the guidelines for safe co sleeping, and I’m ecstatic to find one in a great price point. We highly recommend this mattress. Updated review. I unfortunately have to remove one star as as I was waiting for the bed to expand. I realize that it was not expanding lengthwise. There are about 3 to 4 inches missing off the top and or bottom of the mattress. I purchased my bedframe off of Wayfair and the measurements are for 18 size bed. The packaging was simple and easy to open, which I appreciated right away. Unlike some boxed mattresses that practically explode the moment the plastic is cut, this one expands in a much calmer and safer way. It slowly drew in air and took about two hours to really look like a mattress, then continued settling overnight until it reached its full shape. Comfort wise, this mattress definitely lives up to its extra firm description. It has very little give, yet feels supportive rather than hard. The breathable foam construction also helps it feel comfortable through the night. I chose the 10” thick version and think it would be especially good for a bunk bed, daybed, trundle, RV, or guest room where a dependable low profile mattress is needed.
