We ordered this to top a 36” cabinet and to create a crafting space. The wood is absolutely beautiful. It does have some deep imperfections like in the photo, but still pretty. It is scalloped on both of the long sides so you have to be careful if you’re putting it up against the wall. We chose not to plane it to make it straight because the scalloping is very pretty. It measures between 30 and 33 inches depending on where the scallop is. It is a good inch to almost 2 inches thick. This would be perfect as a topper to a kitchen island!. Susan. Palm Coast, FL. Despite significant damage to the shipping box the bar top is 99.9 undamaged. There is a minor chip on the bottom edge not visible from the top. This is attributed to the outstandingly packaging that was done for shipping. This bar top and delivery has exceeded my expectations. These Hevea butcher block countertops were just what I wanted for my new office. They were well packaged and arrived without damage. A few coats of matte poly were easy to apply. Nice smooth edges too so no additional sanding needed. They were less than half the cost of what I could get through my local big box DIY store. This was a awesome find. Never knew it would be this hard to find a bar top but if you can get your hands on it purchase with confidence. It is finished beautifully and only needs to be installed. I cut mine down about 18 inches to fit a custom bar top install in the basement. The quartz pairing for the lower counter tops look outstanding. If you try to buy this direct the shipping costs are outrageous. Just get it from Wayfair as it ships 10x faster and is actually cheaper when you account for the shipping costs of company direct. I was specifically looking for a 24” x 24” square table for my small apartment, and this worked perfectly for creating a small dining area. The top feels solid, and I paired it with a table base from another seller since this is just the tabletop. The finish wasn’t quite what I expected, but it’s still nice overall. Also worth noting that only one side is finished—the bottom is unfinished. Mine looks similar to the darker wood shown in the first two photos.
