The light isn't distracting during the day, but at night it's bright enough that I've had to cover it to sleep in the room. - The cord to plug the mirror into power is very short, so hopefully your space is near an outlet. The lighting itself is on the dim side — fine for general use, but don't expect it to be very bright. My favorite mirror. Not only can you adjust the mirror lights for different lights but you can also adjust the led lights around the mirror. This mirror is nice. I also love that it has the Bluetooth speaker that plays at a really nice volume. My only issue is the display, not sure if the carrier dropped it but the display screen looks a little damaged from the inside of the mirror.
