The vent cover arrived quickly and in good condition. I like the modern, clean style and the screws are hidden. The installation instructions are clear and remind you multiple times to measure the opening and purchase the cover appropriate for the space. There is no wheel or mechanism to open and close the baffles. You use your fingers or a screwdriver which could be a pain if you are using it in a ceiling or other difficult to access area. Installed this color-changing bathroom fanlight recently and overall I’m really happy with it. Wayfair sent the wrong color since we wanted the matte black one, but support helped. The fan moves air well, the light is bright enough. Color modes are the fun bonus that makes the whole bathroom feel more modern. It’s great to have options… normal white light for getting ready, softer tones for nighttime, and color modes when you want a little vibe. That said, installation was a bit trickier than a standard fan because this unit has multiple functions (light fan color modes). We only had one existing electrical feed at the vent, and while the instructions said additional wiring was “optional,” we wanted to unlock the full potential so we ran an extra line to be able to control everything properly. This is a wall register and as described. The metal is a little flimsy to take that into consideration with drilled it in. It looks nice and new and makes the other register in the room look so dirty, so will have to replace that too! To measure your size correctly, remove the existing vent cover and measure the size of the duct. The duct opening size is what should be ordered. The Ribbon grille is a resin (polyurethane) decorative vent cover that is light in weight yet sturdy and strong. Grilles are unfinished and ready for you to primer and paint to achieve the perfect color for your setting. Each grille is made using a casting process that allows for a three-dimensional look. Grilles will not rust and are not prone to corrosion which makes them excellent for high-humidity areas and dry areas alike. Ribbon grilles are flat on the back and have no inserts. Grilles should not be used on the floor and are only for wall and ceiling applications for central air conditioning and heating systems. Due to the nature of the curing process, grilles can vary very slightly in size so please take the measurements as an approximate size. All grilles should be installed using the provided screws to ensure a safe application. Please note, that these grilles are intended to be primed/painted and will come in an off-white beige color.
