There is a button in the app to "continue to limited version" which is supposedly free but there is no free version. It simply sends you in an endless loop where you are prompted to pay them to use the app. The manufacturer and product listing are dishonest and you're asking for trouble purchasing this fan. If you lose the remote or the remote brakes, you lose all ability to control the light or the fan. That was the entire purpose of purchasing a smart enabled fan so that if something happened to the remote it doesn't brick the device. This is outright fraud. Do not trust this listing.. Christian. This was simple to install. They try to make it easy to install by yourself but I required help lifting this up the ladder from my husband. I had difficulty placing all the items in screw it all up so you have to find the perfect positioning to make it work. We really like that it comes with a remote. We also had to change out our dimmer to a regular switch because it’s messes with light and makes it flicker but that’s what the remote is for. One thing I’m not so sure about is the LED.
