I am very happy with this hood. The quality of build seems solid, installation instructions were very clear, and it I think it looks great. It takes some planning and work to get it installed. You have to make sure your ceiling joists and ductwork is going the right direction or be prepared to do some modifications. I have a soffit and had to take down a bunch of drywall to modify the framing, run the 14/3 romex for the light/fan and modify the ducting. Then I replaced the drywall, taped, texture, paint and installed the hood. Fortunately it all came together nicely. I was able to held the hood in place while my wife drive the screws into the framing. I think it will be worth it in the end because the hood won’t be blocking the view in front of our cooktop.. Well this is a great product but putting it together was a lot! The instructions were hidden along with the screws necessary for installation. This is a beautiful fan! To me, it has a clean classic look but with a modern spin on it. The remote control works well and is straightforward and easy to use. The blade span and speeds allow for good air pressure and a wide range of coverage. The only slight hiccup is that the cap the covers the connector unit is held up by magnets and when we turned the fan on the highest setting it wiggled it off. Item arrived quickly and was packaged well. We got the larger size and the size and design are perfect. The palm leave two tone colors blend nicely and the insides aren't too light colored like similar fans sold online. The base is black - we were hoping it would be a dark bronze color, but the little design on the side is refreshing and the finishing is nice. A few issues which have held up our installation. The first issue was that one of the fan blades had an area that somehow had oxidized or darkened due to the table being affixed to it there to keep it secure. We ordered a replacement blade and wayfair's customer service came through again with flying colors. The second issue is that the wire connecting the fan to the ceiling is much shorter than we expected. The fan comes with a short down rod which fits the wire perfectly, so it can be hung like that, but we have very high ceilings and need a longer down rod. Unfortunately, our first electricians would not install it since it would have to be spliced and they can't guarantee their work in that event. We ordered what were supposed to be universale extension wires, but they didn't fit the ends and would also have to be spliced. I contacted the company to buy extension wires, and they said that if I write a review and email them a screenshot of the review, they would send me extension wires.... That made me a little irritated, so we have hired a handyman who is able to hang it for us even though he's splicing the wire. Amazing range hood! Not easy to install, we actually still were sweating trying to get it secured in with four people involved. The instructions say at least two people, but I would get more people helping! It understandably took us a long time, but it is very sturdy. We have just short of 8 ft ceilings, and wanted it about 30” over the stovetop, so we also had to cut the two covers for the top portion. Get a metal cutting wheel and grinder, it was definitely not a job for someone who doesn’t have experience doing that, but you could cut it a different way if needed. Not necessary to alter like that though for taller ceilings, or lower placements. Installation aside, this range hood works beautifully and is strong even on its lowest setting. The lights are not blinding, and it’s nice having just buttons for control on both sides. Absolutely would recommend, for anyone who has the right help to install!
