This shade was a great replacement for the old, yellow one that broke. It features a soft, bright matte white finish. Although it comes with a cap equipped with two holes for pull chains, only the center chain is functional because the opening is too narrow to use the fan chain—at least for my model of fan. We have a "Florida basement" storage room in our modern organic coastal home that needed a light. This was perfect, nice (not cheap) quality and a little fun. When lit, the warm brown weave creates a neat little pattern across the ceiling. As some have mentioned, you will need to be directly under the fan to feel it but it does move air surprisingly well. This is perfect for us because I sometimes hang wet clothes on a drying rack or do some ironing in the center of the room. Over all the product was very good for the price. Had 1 broken glass flower but since they sent 2 extra things were fine. Would have given it 5 stars if the directions were better.
