Overall, this floor to ceiling cat tree is a nice addition to my space which gives my girl an advantage to be high when she is curious to see what i'm doing; this is her main purpose for using the tree. She is a soon to be, fifteen year old, healthy cat that is agile enough to jump to and from the second tear and make her way with ease to the top . I believe this is worth mentioning since not all senior or geriatric cats will be able to scale each level going up depending on her or his health; such as if your cat has arthritis. Beside her using it daily as an advantage point to see what i'm doing she also uses it each day as a scratcher. Since each level conveniently comes with sisel columns she has been able to claw and stretch which assists in saving one side of my couch from additional damage. Her paws have gotten stuck a couple of times but she manages to unhinge them. I wouldnt suggest pulling the stockings that go over the top adjustment stilt to far down since my senior has gotten her claws stuck in them when i had them as low as they can go. She was able to, with extra effort, unhinge her claws when this happened but it can still be a safety issue if the stocking covers aren't adjusted correctly. There are two other mentions that were not ideal. The first is more of a personality and i'm sure age related preference which is that my cat does not use the two “upholstered beds" (pockets) since i believe she is weary they lack solid underneath support. She avoids getting in them reducing the platforms used to eight. The second issue is structural. This cat tree is advertised to adjust from 87.7 inches to 114 inches. However, there are a few inches, which i believe are from 102-105 inches where it can be very tedious to tighten from ceiling to floor. My floor to ceiling is within this inch range so i had to get creative by figuring out how to adjust the tree so that it has a tight fit. I had to screw the rod almost all the way in to the last sisel column then place the flat tightening ceiling disk on it which worked well. Even with that tedious issue i was able to ensure the tree is secure and can readjust where i place the cat tree at any time. I've now had the tree for about a month and im happy with this purchase. It seems to be well liked by its user and main critic, my beautiful senior girl cat. Without her approval the purchase would have been pointless. Ok i usually dont do reviews but felt i had to on this first off this is very very well made. Its easy to to put together and cat ready in literally 20 minutes by myself!! And the bad marks about it not being sturdy i simply do not get either they did something wrong or there ceiling is just too tall. I can see that happening. If u have tall ceiling then the adjusting rod will be extended to far and cause a wobble. I sent a picture of the rod adjusted on mine and believe me it is very sturdy. This has been a great addition to our cats’ furniture collection! The smalleryounger cat loves to sleep on the flower on top, which is made of something like memory foam, but a bit denser. I imagine it is somewhat self-heating and also helps to hold onto the heat from the window. My largest cat loves the middle level basket. She will curl up in it for hours and has since I took it out of the box. Her sister is terrified of the entire thing and avoids even being near it. I have no idea why. I picked it because it had 3 levels, and they are always together, but it has not appealed to her yet. Pros nice height, stable base, real woodstrong construction, removable basket liner pillows Cons Can be a bit wobbly with multiple large cats - though they have tried 2 in a single basket with no problems. Our cats love this, highly recommend. Because this unit has springs for a better fitting connection to the floor and ceiling, There is a little bit of a wobble or give when the cats jump on the unit. Very good quality wall shelves and perches. Took my husband a couple of hours to assemble but he said it wasn’t bad.
