Wow! I feel sorry for the other guys that are drawn to the inferior pits that are offered here. There are a few that match quality materials and style. Very few exceed it though. It is smaller than many other pits however, there are larger cast iron pits but costing much more! Our pit will fit our cozy corner in my garden nicely. The grate is solid and unlike many other pits, it requires a rocket scientist to assemble. So don’t be fooled by the fancy unnecessary add ons , and don’t get attached by the fine finishes offered. You will be replacing both soon enough with your next pit! Fire pits are supposed to look like this iron pit which will age gracefully and rust won’t claim it any time soon. Buy a cover for 15 bucks and you’re gold. Don’t let an added cover sway you to an inferior piece. Or don’t be led to a pit with a added poker. Use a stick!! Fire pit is nice, but it is not fully cast iron. Only the top part and the lid are cast iron parts. The base it sheet metal and the legs are sheet metal. If you push it along the ground too hard one of the legs may buckle. Its only about 40% cast iron. I was expecting the base and legs to be cast iron. The price was low so so I will keep it. I had a fully cast iron chiminea that lasted about 25 yrs. I was trying to get another of similar quality. There is no way this one is going to last 25 years. This is a very heavy and solid fire pit. It is so unique and modern looking. We designed it to sit in a corner on our deck and built it to spec. Unfortunately, it is really heavy and when it arrived, it was cracked throughout. We were worried these hairline fractures would spread. So far they are holding. The materials it's made of seemed to be a marble, but it is a composite concrete or something which is why it cracked under the weight of the design. It's still so pretty. The quadrilateral steel wood-burning fire pit is handcrafted with meticulous metalwork. The linear geometry is thoroughly modern in design, with sweeping sides and curved detail, which creates an elegant flame-lit addition to terraces, courtyards, and patios. Brayden Studio manufactures and utilizes industrial-strength tank heads for the bowls used in our fire pits. Tank heads are the end caps on cylindrically shaped pressure vessels. They generally comply with ASME standards because of the high pressures they must withstand for use with gas storage tanks and reactors.

The firepit took a few weeks to arrive, and was worth the wait. It is exactly as described and pictured. The only drawback is that the straps that secured it to the pallet rubbed the black finish off on all four sides so we will need to fix that as it is too heavy to return.
