A utility knife is a medium-sized, multipurpose kitchen knife designed to bridge the gap between a paring knife and a chef's knife. It is ideal for tasks that require more precision than a larger blade but more length than a small paring knife. Utility knives excel at trimming, slicing smaller fruits and vegetables, cutting sandwiches, and handling medium-sized ingredients that are too large for a paring knife but too small for a chef's knife. The serrated edge is ideal knife for slicing salami, sausage, avocados and small soft or hard-crusted bread. I give a 5 stars for this 5” serrated utility knife because it’s well made and sturdy. Meanwhile it is not a knife “go to “ for me because the distance between the teeth are too wide. I tried cutting veggies with it and l don’t like how it cuts or slice them. But I know if the serrated teeth were closer it would be useful to me. I put it in the kitchen drawer until l have a project that called for its kind. Nothing wrong with it besides that l have no use for it in my kitchen. Some other people might like it.. Alta. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been looking for a good kitchen knife for my daily cutting but could not find any. This Berghoof stainless steel knife is just the right one that I needed. I like to use medium sized knife that are not too big to hold. And this one is just right size for me. Its not too small to make cutting difficult and not too large either to be difficult to hold. Handle is made with a good quality material and give a nice grip in hand and is very comfortable to hold and use. Knife itself is made with high quality stainless steel and is very sharp. It cut everything sharply, smoothly and precisely. I have used it to cut vegetables, fruits as well as meat, and it works great for everything. Washing is easy and I hope it has a long life. Although its not mentioned anywhere that its sharpness is lifelong but we will see. So far it has become my favorite utility knife and I have discarded my older ones already. Product was gifted..
