It took me four hours by myself to put together but the instructions were ok and all the hardware was there. Construction of the wood parts was good. It's very solid and I love having the trundle option under the bed. Just remember that you need a thinner mattress for the trundle pull out than for the top bed. Excellent quality, super sturdy and very easy to assemble!!! My boys ages 11 and 9 helped me (their mom) build it in just a few hours! It’s sturdy enough that I am able to lay in the top bunk with my 11yr old and it holds up great, my husband is 300lb and lays on the bottom bunk with our 9yr old with no issues! Very solid! And we love the pull out trundle twin size bed for when they have their cousins or friends over! We currently have our nugget play couch on the trundle rather than a mattress, but will be getting a mattress for it. Beautiful, but it was incredibly difficult to assemble. I know a lot of people said it was easy, but as a young woman, I just didn't have the strength in my thumbs to insert all the tiny plastic pieces without it being excruciatingly painful in the end. I'm not saying that to scare you - just know what if you don't have strong hands, it can hurt. I was in tears in the end. I'd recommend getting someone to help you. Additionally, the long metal bar that's wedged into the headboard was not fitting and I had no idea why. I finally had to use a mallet to pound it into place. It's probably the hardest thing I've personally ever assembled due to the pain-factor. Once the bed was done, it was very solid and high-quality. It works perfectly fine as a twin-size day bed. If you're making it a king size, I'd recommend getting a twin-to-king mattress converter. That eliminates the painful gap in the middle. For extra comfort you can add a king-size mattress topper, but I didn't do that due to lack of storage space (if I had the space I wouldn't need the trundle bed).
