It's genuine wood and genuine leather, low slung and very comfortable for extended reading sessions. Cons - the packaging is extremely rudimentary (zero cushioning inside the box) and the first chair arrived with the front right leg completely broken. The leather feels nice, is good quality and has that nice leather smell. The chair is low which I knew it would be but I’m short so that’s fine by me, it also works well with the height of my sofa. It is on the narrow side so if you are a bigger person it does hug you in the hip area. I don't find it uncomfortable, it actually feels kind of cozy to me but I think some people wouldn't like that. There def isn't much wiggle room if you aren't a thin person. I don’t love the color of the leather and wish it were a bit darker, it doesn't seem to match well with the dark wood base to me personally. The chair is attractive and comfortable, but it was not manufactured with care. One of the back brackets was not attached at the correct angle, so the chair back would not go down all the way. But luckily, my handyman was able to remove and reposition it. Also, the stitching on one side is crooked and doesn't cover the staples as it should.
