It was all assembled and the color is beautiful dark brown and the material is a soft velvet… excellent accent chair in our bedroom. It swivels very easily and very smoothly. Oh my goodness I love this chair!! It’s very low to the ground so keep that in mind for placement. I’m trying to create a cozy reading nook for my daughter and this chair is perfect! It’s surprisingly oversized and comfortable. The material is high quality and has various shades of light gray. The swivel is nice and smooth. Due to the size and mechanisms and weight it is very sketchy to bring up the stairs so bare that in mind as well. My favorite part is that the swivel base is covered with the same material as the chair which really just creates a beautiful, expensive, finished look. So much prefer that to a plain metal base.
