It was SUPER easy to put together. It had the same screws basically for everything, so it was hard to mess up. It does come in a lot of pieces, however, the slats will come in the smaller box that gets delivered which is nice. It took me about 1.5 hours with help. The tracking of the shipment was also super convenient and accurate. I was thrown off with the staircase handrail, it’s not very kid friendly to hold onto because it’s low. It does squeak a little bit when my girls climb the stairs, and can sway easy. That’s the only reason I took a star away. Otherwise it is perfect for my 2 and 3 year old to share!. Katie. The bed arrives in 3 heavy boxes. The directions are not as clear as building LEGOs, but we were able to follow them. There are a lot of pieces, so it took quite a few hours to assemble. Some of the pieces were scuffed and slightly damaged upon arrival, but not bad enough that we wanted them to be replaced. The bed is large and heavy when it's completely done, so make sure you have it where you want it as you complete the last few steps. The light in the shelf is cool, but the controls to turn it on/off are kind of weird, and the instructions suggest putting it in a place that you can't reach once the bed is assembled, so that doesn't make any sense. I took off 1 star because it was almost impossible to remove the drawers from the frame in order to screw the pieces down and together. we had to force the drawers out and it cracked the wood. Luckily, the crack doesn't show from view but we had to glue the wood to keep it together. otherwise we love this bed! wayfair customer service was great handling this issue. but contacting the actual company was unsuccessful. Overall it turned out really nice. The kids love it so far. We really like all the storage spaces. They didn’t give us enough of some of the screws so we had to go out and buy our own, but it ended up working out just fine. We had to attach the brackets to the inside of the book case part because they wouldn’t fit on the back of the stairs like it was shown in the picture. I ordered these bunk beds in July when they product was in stock after eyeing for a while. I ordered the product and it was expected to be delivered in 2 weeks. When the product is suppose to ship I get another email it’s now on “back order” and won’t ship for another 3 weeks. So frustrating but waited it out. It then took another 2-3 weeks after it shipped to actually receive it! Was NOT happy about waiting that long. The bunks came in 8 boxes, I was overwhelmed for sure. My husband and I unpackaged all the boxes and hauled everything piece by piece as we needed it. It only took myself (20 weeks pregnant) and my husband 2 hours to put together !!! unfortunately, when putting together there was 2 damaged pieces of wood. When we got to the step portion all the hardware was labeled wrong taking much longer to figure out which hardware we needed to use. After all said and done we are happy with the product.
