Very sturdy and well made. other reviews state that the leaf is sagging etc....well the hardware holding it up is pretty beefy, and there are instructions included for if you need to tightenlevel the leaf. also the other review stating the drawer and leaf should be on the same side...well thats not physically possible, they would get in the way of one another. they included a package of wood seasoning to get you started as well. Sturdy, Cute, and functional. Came well packaged. It took me about 3.5hrs to assemble by myself. You can put it together in 1/2 the time if assembly is your gig. I left the towel rack off and eventually took the side shelf off, because my room is small and honestly I think it looks better. When the leaf is open, it created more counter top than I thought it would. The back is plain and could use some adhesive drawer/shelf liner, which I might do later. Just put it together today (by myself, mind you!), so I can’t speak to the quality long term, but it’s perfect for what I need right now. Took me an about 2 hours to put together - lining up the heavy top was a little bit of a struggle, but i got it after a few adjustments. It’s heavier duty partial board, but the coating on it seems like it’ll hold up well. Smaller hands make assembly a bit easier since some of the connections are in not easily assessable areas. The long and medium bolts are the same length! The Allyn wrench provided is too long, so used a smaller one I had that worked better for me. These Hevea butcher block countertops were just what I wanted for my new office. They were well packaged and arrived without damage. A few coats of matte poly were easy to apply. We ordered the Cucina GrNSW Prep Table with Butcher Block Top (without the optional pot rack mounted above as the picture shows). It took about 5 weeks from order to delivery. We paid extra for the white glove service to construct the prep table. I have to say the service was exceptional, the delivery team were professional, and had the table assembled and all the packing material removed from our kitchen (two flights of stairs up from the street) in no time - they were very respective and quick. We LOVE the Prep Table, our ONLY comment is that the lower shelf sort of tings whenever we place anything on that shelf. This is not a deal breaker, but we might try to find a way to dampen the “ting” sound whenever we put anything on the lower shelf. It’s a substantial piece of furniture. I like the color and I like the dimensions. I wish that it had come in one piece and not had to be put together, but I’m sure it was too big to ship. My only other qualm is the drawers… They’re not soft close and you have to push them in and then give them another hard push to get them to close completely. I love the quality and look of my new Boos butcher block island. My only complaint is that I wished the drawers were two inches longer so they lined up with the block and therefor provide additional space.
