We recently updated my mother's bedroom, and one of the biggest changes was purchasing this Twin over Full bunk bed that she had been wanting. Overall, we are very pleased with it. The bed is solid and sturdy for the price, and the color looks great in the room. Assembly wasn't particularly difficult, but there are a lot of pieces, so I recommend giving yourself plenty of space to organize everything before you start. We also added a few extra slats for additional mattress support, which worked out well. For the lower full-size bunk, we purchased the 9" Plush Cooling Gel Hybrid Mattress by Zinus, and it's been comfortable for her to sleep on. I'm happy with the bunk bed. But my kids are ecstatic. They were celebrating it for like 30 minutes. And the best part is they sleep better now. Putting it together was as difficult as advertised and due to my fitness level, I was sore for days after. The instructions were thorough, though could have been better as some steps could be merged with later ones to make the construction easier to accomplish. And the slats portion could be improved significantly as some were shorter than others. Those steps also didn't convey that the position of each wasn't fixed. So I had to measure the bed frame and put marks down to ensure I did it evenly. I would have expected markings on the frame to indicate where the slats would go. Overall I really like this bunk bed. Color is a bright white. Some of the pieces appeared less painted, as in I could see the wood grain behind the paint as the piece could have used another coat, but once the bed was together this was completely unnoticeable. Some pieces also came a tiny bit damaged but they were all hidden once together. I thought I was going to have to add slats or a bunkie board because of the distance between the slats but because of how they are attached and the material that runs down them to attach them this was not necessary at all. I have 6 in memory foam mattresses on mine that work out really nice. The bottom bunker might bunk their head- but this is true for any bottom bunker on a bunk bed. Well... Good thing Im handy! Ive assembled my fair share of boxed furniture throughout the years. I knew I was going to be in trouble when I opened up the box of hardware, and it was not all in their own bags or separated. There was three or four different sets of screws or hardware per bag that you had to sort or find tiny little paper tags that identified each one. Yee-haw! This bed took a lot of my patience, experience, and several hours. The instructions were very confusing at times, theres no detailed description, just pictures. My bed frame had mislabeled pieces that created a lot of confusion. I also had a shortage of no less than 12 different pieces of hardware. Again, thankfully Im handy and had stuff laying around. Like a previous review said, the instructions for the steps and doors are wrong and need to be switched. You either have to do some good math or guess how wide apart to attach all the slats and drawer stops. All the exposed hardware is kind of a bummer as well. This wasnt a hard assembly, just tedious and frustrating due to the instructions and hardware. Even though it seems like Im complaining, I am very happy with the bed. We have very little storage sleeping options in our house and this bed solves several of those issues. This product is really nice! Everything seems really sturdy and all the wood pieces fit nicely together, except for one stairs bar which won’t tighten fully and therefore is a little wobbly (I’ll be contacting the seller to hopefully get a replacement piece.) Relatively easy install, just took time. Solid construction. There is a metal bar that runs under top bunk, that I purchased pipe foam insulation to cover it as I knew it was just a matter of time before a child hit there head really hard on it. While solid wood, it does indent/mark easily, I have two rambunctious boys who quickly put multiple dents in it and cracked the wood where the ladder attaches by pulling up on the ladder, but probably sonething similar would happen with any bed that we got!.
