I'm happy with the bunk bed. But my kids are ecstatic. They were celebrating it for like 30 minutes. And the best part is they sleep better now. Putting it together was as difficult as advertised and due to my fitness level, I was sore for days after. The instructions were thorough, though could have been better as some steps could be merged with later ones to make the construction easier to accomplish. And the slats portion could be improved significantly as some were shorter than others. Those steps also didn't convey that the position of each wasn't fixed. So I had to measure the bed frame and put marks down to ensure I did it evenly. I would have expected markings on the frame to indicate where the slats would go. I really like the features of the bunkbed and the size fits our space perfectly. The shelves are nice and the LED strips are cool for the bottom bunk. However, some flaws - The product is advertised as real wood, but the only real wood is the 4-post frame and bed slats. The sides and shelving are particleboard and thus are cheaper material. - Because it’s not 100 real wood I think it’s overpriced, but in the end would probably buy it again because of the shelving feature and the size fit our space perfectly. - LED strips only extend two sides of the frame and you can only control them with an app on your phone! (No remote!!) - The bottom drawer is very shallow and barely holds anything, maybe a couple of books. It also isn’t on a track so it slides all over the place. We ended up not using it. - The shelves are shallow and hold small fidget toys and water bottles. Overall I really like this bunk bed. Color is a bright white. Some of the pieces appeared less painted, as in I could see the wood grain behind the paint as the piece could have used another coat, but once the bed was together this was completely unnoticeable. Some pieces also came a tiny bit damaged but they were all hidden once together. I thought I was going to have to add slats or a bunkie board because of the distance between the slats but because of how they are attached and the material that runs down them to attach them this was not necessary at all. I have 6 in memory foam mattresses on mine that work out really nice. The bottom bunker might bunk their head- but this is true for any bottom bunker on a bunk bed. This is a strong well made bunk bed. I wish they put extra screws though becase a few broke and I had to improvise. My boys love it and that was the dream. Relatively easy install, just took time. Solid construction. Excellent quality, super sturdy and very easy to assemble!!! My boys ages 11 and 9 helped me (their mom) build it in just a few hours! It’s sturdy enough that I am able to lay in the top bunk with my 11yr old and it holds up great, my husband is 300lb and lays on the bottom bunk with our 9yr old with no issues! Very solid! And we love the pull out trundle twin size bed for when they have their cousins or friends over! We currently have our nugget play couch on the trundle rather than a mattress, but will be getting a mattress for it. The only complaint I have is that it came with absolutely no extra hardware incase a piece is broken or gets lost during set up, not a single extra bolt, screw or wooden dowel, but otherwise we are very happy with this purchase!!.
