These bar stools are very mid century modern retro.  From the curved wood legs and arm chair lines to the blue chenille fabric shell back seat, all around gives that mid century vibe.  The directions on how to put them together were not in the box, but thankfully it was very easy to figure out.   I purchased these as an open box item and I could be happier about the deal I got and the quality of the stools.  They were brand new and looked like they had never been opened.  They are very stable and comfortable.  I was a bit concerned with how firm the seat was to begin with, but after a week of use the seat is starting to give enough to feel comfortable.  The seat backs were comfortable from the very beginning.  The swivel is very smooth and swivels a fil 360.  Overall I am thrilled with this purchase and very happy I got them at a third of the price. These are really sturdy. The legs are wood but they have two metal square pieces that support the legs. Seats are super comfortable. The chairs are attractive. Fairly easy to put together. They seem sturdy once assembled. They arrived quickly. I have 3 complaints. The chairs smell. They need to be off gassed. The instruction booklet is not detailed enough. The pictures are small and the details are not included. The base of the seat is not very strong. These are really sturdy. The legs are wood but they have two metal square pieces that support the legs. Seats are super comfortable. These counter stools are easy to assemble, sturdy, and complement my kitchen as well as adjacent living areas perfectly. I am an 80 senior and assembled my two stools myself. Putting the legs together (first step) was slightly tricky, but every step after went smoothly. The holes for screws are perfectly machined, nicely thought out assembly design. The swivel seats rotate is smooth as can be. In choosing the height for a 36 inch high counter I felt there needed to be something in between the 25 inch and 30 inch stool.
