But true to myself I read the reviews prior to purchase and decided I would be smarter than everyone else and purchase a clear lacquer to cover the wood grain material. Welp, it’s safe to say it didn’t work and the material still scuffed and dented with the slightest of friction. Sturdy and stylish. Have great ergonomic tilt for a comfortable sit. Even more comfortable with a pillow for longer sits. One thing we do not like - bottom where post meets seat looks janky when viewing stools from a seated couch position. We stuffed black garbage bags to close the gap and make less noticeable.
