It wasn't difficult to assemble but did take about 6.5 hours to complete with one person, and while it came with a small screwdriver, I would highly recommend just using your own larger screwdriver, if you have it, to spare your fingers.. Good looking piece, I wouldn’t call it a bookshelf though. It is more than that it can be a credenza with a hutch, a hutch cabinet or china hutch. This build was time consuming as suspected. And also a ton of pieces. Quality of pressboard was fine, and the laminate looked good. I did not like the exposed hardware, I would include wood looking stickers in the package. Nice bookcasecabinet. It does require a lot and assembly but it’s the same process twice…identical cabinets stack. It is sold wood but a bit thin.
