I’m a beginner & purchased the brother cs 7205, I love it! Easy to figure out, the manual & video are so helpful. It sews beautifully. I’ve had 0 issues! The one thing I didn’t notice when I purchased was that it embroidery's only the block font. I wish I would have bought the one with more font options and that has an app for my computer so that I can send projects to the machine. That’ll be my next machine. Light, Compact and Simple. Bobbin winding and threading machine was easy. First simple thread was nice and even with proper tension. I tried elastic, overcast and double overlock stitches - all three worked fine. It comes with "walking" foot for heavy fabrics. I bought in addition side cutting foot, that with overcast/overlock works like serger. Inclusion of extended table and the case is nice. The only minor thing that could be better is lcd display missing backlight - hard to read. I was looking for higher end machines, but they start above $500. CS7000X for me is just enough. I took my year and a half old sewing machine in for repair again. I have always bought my sewing machines from the old school company. I was looking around the shop while they check my sewing machine out. I noticed a LB5500M at a very good price. I’ve wanted an a sewing machine that could do embroidery for sometime. I set it up at home and started sewing with it. It blew me away the features are fantastic but it’s the way it feels that one me over. It’s very intuitive to use, I seamlessly flow from one project to another. The quality is fantastic and ease of use is unbelievable. I wish I hadn’t just purchased a serger made by the other company. the brother pq1600s is simply amazing!! this was a huge upgrade from my previous machine and quite a big investment for me and it was worth every penny! i’ve had it since the end of october and among all the little projects i’ve sewn, i just finished my first big quilt (90x90). the throat space was plenty big enough to get the whole thing through for straight line quilting and my machine never missed a beat. it’s so solid and powerful (but quiet!) and sews like a dream! even, perfect stitches every time. i am so excited to have this beautiful machine and i can’t wait to keep learning and improving.. I've never used an embroidery machine before and found this easy and fun to use. It works well, is quick and easy to set up, and the app is fun.
