Assembly wasn’t too hard to understand like others are making it seem, just gotta use your brain. The hardest part was fitting into tight corners to tighten some of the camber bolts and whatnot. We absolutely love our Mandujano Murphy Bed in the Barnwood finish. After downsizing, we needed our larger office to double as a guest room, and this bed is perfect. It’s solid wood, extremely well built, and the design is brilliant — when folded up, it looks like a beautiful chest of drawers, and the bottom drawer is a real storage drawer that holds pillows, sheets, and a blanket. We bought the matching mattress thinking we might upgrade it later, but it’s genuinely comfortable. When our twin sons were visiting, one son slept on it with a plush topper and liked it so much he stayed in the Murphy bed even after the guest room became available when his brother departed. This Murphy Bed comes in several heavy boxes with a lot of pieces. So it's definitely my recommendation to hire a professional to put it together to save you time and to ensure the product is assembled properly with anchoring to the wall for security. I must say it came together beautifully and will fit our needs for additional modern style storage and sleep space when we have overnight guests. The material is somewhat sturdy manufactured wood which is only noticeable up close. The frame will definitely only fit a 10 inch mattress or less. We tried a 12 in and the main door will not close. As many have mentioned, it would have been great to have shelves inside the cabinet but if you're handy you can easily install some for more storage. I have been shopping around for a quality Murphy bed for quite some time and almost bought a $4000 model but I'm glad I was able to save once I found this one for a fraction of the cost. It’s a big piece of heavy furniture and it’s perfect. Assembly was pretty straightforward and feels over engineered. The mattress that comes with it is quite thin but that’s based on my preference ! I really like the Murphy bed it was delivered on time and was in almost perfect condition. The item had one minor scratch, and it was easy to paint over. The bed was not easy to assemble, but I had help. It looks nice and is easy to lift updown. We bought two of these for our guestgame room. There are a lot of steps to put them together but its actually quite easy. I suggest having a second person as some of the pieces are long, its just easy to line up with the other person. The wheels worked better on carpet than I thought they would. Assembly took ~6 person hours with a couple of mistakes that required taking some pieces apart and reassembling. Multiple pieces were not labeled with numbers and the instructions were somewhat difficult to follow. This piece is very sturdy but note that it weighs ~240 lbs in total. Converting it from a cabinet to a bed is definitely a 2 person operation as the top is quite heavy. A 6" trifold mattress just barely fits - it makes it hard to use the latch and puts pressure on the front panel such that it slightly bends outwards. Amazing value! We looked all around for one of these beds to fit into an extra office/guest room. This was about half the price of other furniture stores and it is a perfect addition to the room. We added a thick mattress cover to make it more plush and some small reading lights in the top underneath so guests will have easy access to a light at night.
